yes,I think he's right because if he goes out he will understand that what had happened to them,how to solve the problem and may be he can also help the cavern's people and solve this shrinking problem and how to get back to their houses.and cavern's people should let him go as it's helping them too.
Perhaps Robert made the correct decision for going out in search for normal life because in this way he may get back to normal and if he'll stay in cavern, he will never be able to go back to normal and he'll have to spend his life in boring and new way and without any facility. I think after he get out of cavern so every thing will get normal.
According to me Robert's decision was good to go to the world where he does not fit because if he stays with the cavern people, they will force him to forget his past but if suddenly go back to normal life he won't know his past.

This could also help the others like if Robert get's help from his parents, he could help the others too. Also that if Robert doesn't get's big at least he could get supplies from his home, like warm things for winter etc.

I think it was the wright decision he make because he need to find shelter and protectin and if he lives in cavern so he can find his faimly members and can live ahappy life as he wanted and he also do not change his name and forgot because he has a desprit to go back home and live happily........
